Winter Cup at the South Garda Karting of Lonato – 23rd edition

Someone has decided that karting racing in Italy starts in January. The South Garda track near Lonato in Brescia is covered with ice and snow. What kind of karting can be here now? Well, if you came from Estonia, where it is minus 17 now, then everything is OK! But… representatives of 30 countries participate in the race, and for many of them here, the conditions are extreme.

So… Release two dozen civil cars on the track – and in half an hour the ice turned into water! Moreover, there are more than enough people who want to drift on a car along a karting track. The snow that remained on the sides of the track is melting.
And in the place where it was just dry, water appears. As a result, during qualifying in the OK category, several drivers parked on the grass. After qualifying, drivers compete in 4 manches and a Super hit. The points scored in these races are summed up, and according to the results, the starting grid of the final is formed. Thus, not counting the warm-up, numerous free practices and qualifications, participants make 6 races in three days. Such a large number of races is a great training before the season.
